Guest Book

Thank you so much for clicking on the Guest Book.   I sure hope you take time to sign it and tell me a little about yourself - it’s always great to hear from those who find their way to the blog.

The purpose of this blog is to share my thoughts and experiences about my various hobbies, special projects and our RV travels.  You can read more about all of these categories by following the journal posts (usually twice a week) and if your looking for something more specific, take a look at the options listed on the side bar menu.  RVers (new or veterans) may be interested in how & why we got started in RVing — you can read that story here

Thanks for looking (TFL) and stop by again - anytime!

Hi Jim -- I'm pleased to make contact with a fellow RVer. I took a peek at your site and it looks great -- I'll be adding it to my menu bar so I can follow your adventures and will read thru it when I can give it my undivided attention.

Wow -- your wife has a variety of sewing skills -- mine are what I call "entry level" compared to what I've found online. But I love it anyway and get inspired by the amazing talent out there. Thanks for your visit and comments on the website. It has expanded over time --- sewing and camping stuff -- something not everyone would consider "go together" LOL. But that's what I do. Anyway lately our trips have been less than we like due to Tom's job commitments. sigh

I'm definitely jealous of your visit to NC (our former home state)...loved it there. I hope you find something useful here -- perhaps a new CG to visit. I do try to offer lots of pictures of campsites from the CGs we visit -- or links I find online which are listed under "Finding Campgrounds". One of our favorite CGs up North is Goose Point COE in Bassett, VA. Something to consider if you are ever in the area. We sure miss the tall pines.

Enjoy that retirement --- Tom is counting down the days. Take care and safe travels to you! Hope we meet on the road someday.

Hello Lucy,

Found your site through RV.NET gadget thread. Great site and blog, and well maintained.

My wife Carol and I are fairly new comers to the RV experience. We bought a used 2003 Winnie Brave two years ago in preparation for our retirement. We have camped locally on weekends in our home state of Ohio, with side trips to Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. On May 29th of this year we will both be retired.

We wiil be expanding our plans on RV travel starting with a one-week loop journey to NC and back. We’ll visit friends in Statesville then off to Asheville (Biltmore) on to Kentucky and a return to the Heart of it All, Ohio. The major adventure for the year will be a month’s journey west to the state of Oregon to visit my son and daughter-in-law.

My DW is also a quilter, cross-stitch, seamstress, arts and crafts type lady. When I hook her up with your site, I am sure she will spend hours pursuing your pages and the links. I’ll be returning too.

I have tried to include, via URL?, my initial (and humble) attempt at a personal site when we first got the RV'g bug. I was off to a pretty good start, but my real job (work) got in my way for maintaining it. Who knows perhaps you have inspired us to give it another try over the up coming year.

Again, a job well done.

Jim

Hi Lucy!
Just saw your blog and I love it! Here is the link to ours. We also are from Florida, St. Augustine. We were all winter at Flamingo Lakes. The Keys next winter. Anyway, we are off to the Grand Canyon today, so gotta' run. Hope you get a chance to read our blog and see our pics. I'm bookmarking your site so I can look more closely later.

Hi Lucy -

I know I visited this website a year or so ago from a link on RVnet. Today I was just snooping around the Tiffin network forums and saw your posting about Key West. From that posting I jumped here onto your site and have been lost in it for longer than I care to admit. Great website/blog you have here.

Anyway, we just sorta decided yesterday that we want to hit the Florida Keys this year. We haven't gotten very far in researching it yet but that Curry-Hammock SP looks sorta neat from your pixs and the price is right! It is much further from Key West than the KOA we were considering. Do you know how long it would take to drive into town? And one thing I am not sure about is that we are planning on going sometime in the summer. Do you think it might be too buggy down there in the summer??

Whatever thoughts you may wish to share about the Florida Keys in general would be much appreciated when you have time.

Thanks and, again, great website! - Rosemary (aka Tulirose)

Hello Brian -- I'm glad you found your way here and hope it can help you find places to stay. We have never been to a Nascar race. Why I don't know as it sounds like a blast. Enjoy your travels and I hope you can fulfill that dream of all those races.

BTW -- I can't take credit for those pics of Topsail -- those were taken by an RVer on the RV.NET forum.. I just created a link to them. He's the big hero on that one. We all love him very much. giggle

Hello & greetings from Texas. My parents turned me on to your site as we are all meeting at Topsail CG near Destin for Spring Break this March. What a great idea to have snapshots of every site. Thank you for your efforts to have them on the web.

I'm 38 and enjoy camping with the motorhome. I use it three times a year to attend the races at the Texas Motor Speedway and often at the lakes and local parks in Austin & San Antonio. Someday when I retire I'd like to hit 15 or more Nascar events a year!

Keep enjoying!

Brian

Larry and Debbie --Thanks for your visit and I'm glad you signed the guest book. We'd sure love to get that far North again someday. We are amazed how many great places we find when we travel within 1 or 2 days of our home base -- that's how we found those 2 great COE CGs in Virginia - Goose Point and North Bend. Anyway, we'd love to enjoy a campfire together someday. Take care.

I came across your website while surfing on RV.net. I saw a post about replacing your carpet with tile and just kept reading. We live in the Hampton Roads area and hope to see you around the campfire sometime. We hope you have safe and happy travels.

Hi Susan -- Willow Tree is so beautiful - I'm sure you will love it. Lots of great things for the kids to do - their pool is very nice and the playground is right next to it. I think you are wise to pick it over one of the big beach CGs. You can always take a day trip into the beach so the kids can step in the ocean.

Thanks for signing the guest book and your kind comments. I always love to hear from those who find their way to the site. I hope you find the trip reports or reviews helpful in finding other places to visit someday. Our trips have been on the skimpy side this year with Tom's new job, but hopefully we'll get back in the swing again soon. We are headed to SC & NC in October but unfortunately no time for Willow Tree this trip. Enjoy your stay there.

Hi Lucy,

I came across your website while researching Willow Tree Resort in SC. Your website is wonderful and I will probably never be able to read all entries, but I have read a lot of your reviews. My husband and I do not own a big motor home, but we own a popup camper and love it just as much. We have 2 children, 5 and 9, and they also enjoy it. We are going to Willow Tree in 6/2008 and cannot wait. I was unsure until I read your review and saw all of your pictures. I had thought about a CG on the ocean, but they were too big for me to feel comfortable allowing my children to ride their bikes. I just wanted to say thanks and I look forward to reading about your future travels. By the way, my husband and I live in Washington, NC, so I can relate to a lot of your adventures in NC.

Susan

Hi Helen! Congratulations on your retirement -- and lucky you to be on the road. We are jealous -- and can't wait to do the same, but it will be a few more years. Re: How to create a website -- I''ll send you an email with more info as it will allow me to go into more detail with links, etc. and then you'll have it as a reference later. Hopefully you'll find that useful. Stay tune for that email (might be a couple days -- but I will get it done). smile

Thanks for your visit and kind comments. Safe travels to you guys.

Stumbled on your post on the Woodalls forum, and wanted to tell you how much I like your website! Charlie and I started RVing in 2002. We also started with a rental, then a Holiday Rambler, and this past January we bought a 34" Gulfstream. At the end of April I retired early and we are now enjoying life (although the stock market is a little scary right now!). Since retiring we spent an extended weekend on the coast, at Beverly Beach (in Flagler Cty, FL); a 4 wk trip up the east coast to some great places, and are now trying to find a spot near the Withlacoochee Bike Trail, we want to get some riding in.

I'm not a quilter but my sister is and she just gave me a beautiful quilt. Any suggestions on how to start my own website?

Thanks Steve.. I enjoyed our email exchange. Keep in touch -- hope we see you on the road someday.

Lucy we've very much enjoyed your CG reviews and associated photos. I also just sent you an email with a bit more detail about us. Found your site after one of your recent posts on the Tiffin forum.

Welcome MoMoe. Thanks so much for the comment --- and the humor.. Dog years. That makes me laugh. Hope you find some of the stuff useful.

Perhaps you already noticed I like to share the campsites we find. We have been quite happy with COE CGs...and have stayed @ some beautiful places. I am starting to take videos -- have a few that need editing from our last trip to GA. At some point I'll have a section that points visitors to YouTube to see those.
