Guest Book

Thank you so much for clicking on the Guest Book.   I sure hope you take time to sign it and tell me a little about yourself - it’s always great to hear from those who find their way to the blog.

The purpose of this blog is to share my thoughts and experiences about my various hobbies, special projects and our RV travels.  You can read more about all of these categories by following the journal posts (usually twice a week) and if your looking for something more specific, take a look at the options listed on the side bar menu.  RVers (new or veterans) may be interested in how & why we got started in RVing — you can read that story here

Thanks for looking (TFL) and stop by again - anytime!

Welcome Don -- thanks for your visit and kind comments. Yea - the Love Bugs --- last year was our first encounter with them. We are hoping to miss them this year. Glad you found the site useful and perhaps we will run into each other someday.

What a great website! We live in Spring Hill, Florida so got a good laugh about the love bugs! Your reviews and pics about Florida campgrounds are very useful. We have a 2005 40ft Fleetwood Providence DP and are constantly looking for quick local getaways as we both still work fulltime. Keep up the posts and Happy Trails to you both!

Hi Ali -- Thanks for the comment -- I'm glad you found the site helpful

You are going to love Topsail! Now for advice -- hmmm -- All I can think of is be sure to take your bikes cuz there are lots of places to ride (in and out of the CG) and try the Donut Hole restaurant for breakfast one day. It's not far from Topsail -- West on Rt 98 just a few miles. Popular place, so go early.
Have a great time @ both CGs --- you'll be hooked after those trips. (if you are not already). Take care

I love your website! We have just purchased a new travel trailer and are excited to get started on this RV adventure. Your reviews and tips have been very helpful. Found your site when looking up images of Goose Point Campground on Philpott Lake, Va. We live less than an hr from there and this will be our first camping trip in a couple wks. We are also planning to spend at week at Topsail S.P. at Santa Rosa Beach in Oct. Any tips for that trip? Ali

Welcome Dara - thanks for your kind comments - I really appreciate them.

We love our Bus and someday we expect to trade up to a 42' coach - maybe even a 45. But that is years down the road. If we were buying today, however, we'd go with the 42'over the 40' because they no longer offer a 2 slide coach and the new 40' Bus with 4 slides has a low CCC (somewhere between 2800-3500). That is too low in our opinion. We have about 5400 CCC today. Some fulltimers are buying the new Bus or Phaeton and are learning they have limitations in what they can carry in certain outside bays to avoid being overloaded on one side or another. So if you expect to part time or fulltime you may want to research this further. On the 42' Bus I think you'll get close to 9,000 CCC.

Have fun in Fort Myers. We are headed to Topsail (Santa Rosa Beach, FL) for Thanksgiving. We miss cool weather... ha ha.

Great website! How do you like your bus? We are hoping to up-grade from Valencia (38ft) to a Bus (40 or 42 ft) Any drawbacks? Anything we should know? Thanks and have a great winter. We head to Fort Myers on Nov. 11 for winter. Drive safe

Welcome Jeff - Congratulations on the Bus purchase... how exciting for you two -- and what a great plan for your maiden voyage. We did something similar -- bought in WI and took about a 10 days returning to NC. What an experience.

Have fun and -- and safe travels to you guys!

Hi Lucy!

I just found your website.

My wife, Pam, and I just bought a 2006 Allegro Bus 40QDP from a wonderful couple in Baltimore, MD. We will pick it up on 7/3 and plan to meander our way back to Alvin, TX by 7/8.

I look forward to reading about your retirement adventures. My wife, daugher, dogs and I will use our coach for weekend getaways to the beach, tailgating, and (ugh!) hurricane evacuations.

Best Regards,
Jeff Foley

Hi Lucy,
I just wanted to say I love your posts. What a great outlook on life you have. I especially think that what you did for Herman was so very nice.
Now, if our home ever sells, we will have a Tiffin also and we really hope to run into you folks some time. (well, not RUN INTO) lol
See ya down the road.

Karen -

I'm so sorry you are stuck on the coach. Bummer....

Thanks for the nice comments and signing the Guest Book. I'm always so thankful folks take the time to do this.

Tom and i are eager to get back to RVing soon and looking forward to exploring Florida. I'll definitely be sharing those experiences. We'll be spending some time @ C.B. Smith Park again before moving into our new house -- and if Tom's work schedule stays "stable" we plan to visit Fort DeSota Park in late May. A slower start to our RVing trips than last year - but we hope once we get settled in FL it will pick up again. So i hope you stay tuned and some of it offers ideas on places to go - etc. Take Care.

Hi Lucy,
Just want to say I love your site. I stumbled on it a few monthes ago, and bookmarked it to come back to. Stuck on the couch with a leg injury, so I'm cruising the net and rediscovered you. Thanks for taking the time to post, and it's in such a clever format! Enjoy the pictures of the campsites & your 100 list, especially. Good job, Girl. I'm looking forward to your next trip ;)

Maybe someday we'll get to your part of the country.. we are hoping to get there - probably after Tom retires. We'd love to tour the Northwest.

Lucy, after all the kind words you left on the RV.net site about my renovation, I had to sneak a peek at your new Tiffin. VERY NICE!! Enjoyed your website and will put it in my favorites to keep up with your journeys. And no it isn't "camping" it's "RVing"!

Nancy -- Welcome. I'm so glad you found us. I'm very excited for you guys. I hear great things about the Coachman Cross Country DP. Good luck to both of you and enjoy.

BTW -- the RV in the 1st picture of my RV scrapbook is a Cross Country DP -- it belongs to an rv.net member -- on their trip to BLuewater Keys -- they inspired us to try RVing!
