C. B. Smith Park

CB Smith Site 11.JPG

Lucky for us - we were able to stay in our Bus during our house hunting trip @ C.B. Smith Park which is in Pembroke Pines, FL.   Here is Tom @ our site - #11.  This is a large county park not far from I-75.  It’s obviously a popular park for this area  -  lots of stuff for folks to do.  The tennis courts were occupied all the time - long into the night.  They are far enough away from the CG - so the noise from tennis playing was not an issue.  The CG sites are fairly large, roads & sites are paved and sites were larger than we expected.  50 amp - full hookups.  We were very pleased with the location of this CG — it was minutes from where we needed to be everyday.   $30/night for us (23/for Florida residents).  How canyou beat this — when nice hotels in this area are $180 - 250 a night?  Ouch!  So we loved this benefit —-

but

The concert — the last night of our stay they had a concert.  It went on all night - you may remember i blogged about it.  Boy was it LOUD.  This is a problem if your looking for a peaceful weekend - it could be completely spoiled by a concert.

Although we don’t like the threat of a concert — we are returning to this CG prior to moving into our new home.   We have to stay somewhere for about a week — and we’ll just take a chance.  Here’s Tom checking out where we’ll be next time.

Somewhere we have a sound machine — i must find it before we leave.  You know those machines that have different sounds — raining , ocean waves, birds chirping.  Whatever.  One of those sounds may help drown out any concert.  Maybe.   We may invest in some ear plugs too.
