Curry Hammock State Park

We made a quick stop at Curry Hammock State Park (Mile Marker 56) during our trip to the Keys last weekend.  They keep the campground locked for security purposes, but the camp host let us in to the day use area and we walked over.  The place was packed but I did get some pics of the sites we liked best.  The pic above is site 22 - I think it offers the best view, but the site is not that deep compared to the others.  Reserve America says it would handle a 45’ RV which surprises me.

Here is Tom on site 7.  You can’t see the water view in this pic, but it is there.  Tom liked this site for the privacy, view, and the patio extension.

Here are sites 13, 11, 9  (left to right).  Notice site 13 does not have the patio extension.  A few along the water here don’t have that extra space.  When you look at Reserve America’s campground map you’ll be able to tell which sites have this.

This is site 17 - it was the only vacant waterfront site but probably not for long.  Another example of no patio extension.  While it is closer to the water, we felt the patio space is more cramped and the view is somewhat obstructed by the vegetation.

This is site 9 - my other favorite.  Still a great view and the patio extension.  I booked this site for 1 night on our way home from Bluewater next Thanksgiving.   It’s only 50 miles North of Bluewater but since they had an opening  I figured we’d try it out.

For future reference you can see all of these pics and a few more (7 in total) in the photo album.    I’ll get some more shots during our stay.  I  had to skip a few sites as the owners were out and about and I did not want to be intruding.

P.S.  I updated my Florida campground review folder as it was missing a few stops we had made.  The list is starting to grow, so I added a separator line for readabiilty.   I’d sure like to know if that  line looks OK in other browers.  So please feel free to comment about that if it looks funky.  E.g.,  do you see just 1 line between each review? Or does the line wrap and continue on the next line.

Curry Hammock looks like a nice place. Would love to visit there someday.

The lines look good. The first line went all the way across the page but the second line only goes half way across. That's what I see, not sure about other people. It still helps separate each review.

In my browser (IE 7 - or whatever is the latest) the line wraps about 3/4 of the way over on the second line. But that doesn't detract from the blog - which is what I look at it for - not whether the lines look right or not. I read yours every day and think you must have a wonderful life!!

The squiggly lines look fine. Thanks for taking the time to stop at Curry Hammock and taking pix and sharing with us. It may be the place for us next December during the holidays.

Thanks Nita. I hope you can make the Curry Hammock trip work - it is really amazing how close you get to the water for about $26/night.
