I'm Completely Beared Out
Tuesday, December 16, 2008
and pooped. Finally - the memory bears are done.
Isn’t it funny how the different fabric layout makes some of their heads look bigger than others? I assure you are they are all the same.
Makes me want a patchwork face …
and body. he he.

I was able to add a back pocket on all 4 bears. In addition, two have a sleeve placket or whatever you call it.
Like this.

And just so the other bears (siblings) don’t feel slighted, bears without a sleeve placket got a little quilt kerchief.
Like this. grin

Bye Bye Bears — they’ll be shipped to their new homes tomorrow.

These turned out great. The heads do look as if they are different sizes. The kerchiefs are cute also. It's nice that you all now have a remembrance of a loved one. :)
Lucy these are so wonderful! This was really one of the most wonderful projects I've ever seen. They all turned out so cute, your mom is definitely smiling down on you!
Those turned out just adorable and it is such a good idea!
Such talent and creativity you have Lucy. You also have four very fortunate siblings! Now take a rest (I am certain, however, that you never rest!) and head to Ortona.
Lucy, these are absolutely incredible! Worth every minute that you have spent on them! I love love love the little quilted kerchief! Soooooo cute!!!! Your mother is so proud of you!!!
I hope that you get to feeling better soon. Colds can be very miserable. Take Care!
Oh, Lucy! Your bear clan is awesome. I wish I had the forethought to have kept some of my mothers fabric. I know my sister would be so surprised. Your family will be overwhelmed with your skill.
Jane in cold, snowy Kansas
Thanks for all the lovely comments ladies. I appreciate them and your support as I worked through this project. I spent half the day yesterday figuring out how to package these and sure wish I could share it, but I must postpone that surprise until after Christmas. I'm lucky I got these done when I did -- the two going to AZ are suppose to arrive on 12/24.
We are leaving today for our Xmas Bus trip and I'm terribly behind getting ready....so I won't be by to check out blogs and such until later today or tomorrow....
Sorry it's snowy and cold in Kansas Jane -- I do feel a bit guilty. The weather is absolutely gorgeous here.
These are so special, Lucy. If I were the recipient of such a special gift, I would be overwhelmed. Truly a beautiful way to keep your Mother close.
