Garden Spaces
Monday, February 4, 2008 Yesterday I went to a garden shop called In Living Color. I found this place last year — it’s a bit further away from the house so I don’t go often but I just love this place. They have some great accessories — outdoor pictures, lamps, vases, and a fabulous selection of plants, fountains, etc. I could wander around there all day — or move in! I wish I could transplant a look like that at home — so heavenly. ![]()
NC Backyard Garden - Sept 2006This weather has certainly renewed my interest in gardening and brought back fond memories of our garden beds back in NC. sigh - I truly miss those. ![]()
FL Garden - Jan 2008I briefly thought about changing this bed outside the pool fence that I just redid — maybe fill it with different perennials that I could piddle with throughout the year. It’s not too big of an area so when we get relocated again I could easily change it back to an easy-care space. Not sure if I’ll do this — but I’m thinking about it. What I need is more information about the plants down here… so I decided to pour over some landscape websites and think through what I would plant to be sure I had color all year. My biggest worry is how it would look during the summer sauna season. I’d want it looking nice and colorful — no soggy or scraggily looking plants in our beds! Ha Ha.
Anyway, the trip to Living Color was great - it got my blood flowing again.. plus I was surprised to find it full of beautiful wicker patio sets. Boy they did not have all those last year. All different kinds with colorful cushions that look like tropical fruits….So yummy looking - they spoke to me….he he so I became goldilocks and tried them all -
and this set won. It was just right. Perfecto.

…. but since we just ordered Tom’s new office furniture, we’ll have to enjoy a picture of it for now.
boo hoo

I like that furniture, Lucy. I need some outside wicker chairs for the new place. I have a glass top table with metal base in my current house that I'm going to use on the covered porch at the new place. Because it's kind of big, I thought benches on the sides and two tall wicker chairs at the ends. Now if I can just find what I want....
I like what you've done with your garden. You're right - a Florida garden will never be what your old gardens were.
like that furniture!
