The Office

BeforeWell it sure has been a long time coming. I’ve been working on this project for over a month.

I had a plan. Then a plan for the plan, ordered furniture, shopped for fabric, made drapes, painted, repainted (saved Tom from baby poop ). Then today I did the fun part.

The Pottery Barn and their friends in China now have lots of my money. I stopped there after picking up my MacBook danger danger and bought 2 lamps, 2 lamp shades, a clock, couple of picture frames, and a piggy bank.

So here are the results..so far.  We do have a few other things to get - a new desk chair, a new printer, and Tom wants a desktop Mac as we’d dearly love to get rid of the wire mania on the floor.  Someday.  This life preferably.

The bottom 2 drawers in the credenza are file drawers. Lots of bills requires lots of files. he he

We’ve had this lamp for over 10 years — the shade was crunched long ago so that’s where one of the new shades went. The glass jar on the desk is the piggy bank.

Since you cannot see the drapery pattern — here’s a closeup during construction. I decided to use the chunky rings with clips instead of doing pinch pleats… it was faster. he he

I hate putting up curtain rods, but the drapery gods were smiling down on me yesterday - they went up correctly the first time and they are attached for life! Should the next owner look - they’ll only find 6 holes up there vs 12 or 18. smile

But the drapes are not hemmed yet. Tomorrow.

So that’s it. I’m pooped and broke.

The end.

A job well done. I like the way the curtains look. And the wall color is much better since you repainted. You will never get Tom out of there.

I'm so glad you joined my blog party! Nice to meet you. :-) Glad I could give you something to read when you couldn't sleep. I've have bouts of insomnia myself, so I know what that's like!

Your office looks good! I've got to do something with my husband's office and I've been looking for furniture like yours for him. I like that.

Oops. I mean "I have" bouts of insomnia. Not "I've have" insomnia. Can you tell I write for a living? Ha.
