Doll Romance
Sunday, January 11, 2009 My first completed quilt of 2009 — the doll quilt. grin
It’s only done because I stopped piecing the 1.5” squares. The postman saved me. The yard of pink cottage romance I was waiting for came on Saturday. That’s when I figured 114 squares was enough. I’m sure Olyvia won’t mind.
Final size is 19 X 23. And I made a bigger pillow which is 10 X 6. The back is just white.

Lucy it turned out really, really cute! Actually the amount of bright squares with the larger amount of pink is perfect! Olyvia is going to love it.
Adorable quilt Lucy! And congratulations on your stippling - I'm impressed!
Lucy that is just precious. Lucky Olyvia to have such a creative and talented great aunt!
I love it Lucy. I really like the combination that you used, even if it was not originally planned that way. I think I like it better just like you did it. Sue
Lucy,
What a great project! I know my Greatgranddaughers would love to have a new dolly with a bed, quilt, and pillow. Maybe next Christmas.

I love it! How cute! You are getting really good at stippling! The more you do it the better you will get! I think that using the squares as a border on the top is just perfect. All tiny squares might have been too much.
Just right.....can't wait to hear Oly's reaction. She will probably say something like this, 'Oh, it is just perfit! I love it!" She is quite animated. Thanks so much :)
Thanks so much for your lovely comments gals - I appreciate them. It sure is a perfect project to practice stippling so if you have an interest in doing that - give it a shot. I think I'll do a few more of these just for practice. Eventually Olyvia may need a dresser to hold all the doll bedding. tee hee
I've been busy with some other home things all day today -- so I'll be back to visiting blogs tomorrow. Hope you are all staying warm and keeping your New Year's resolutions... Sure you are!
I really like the dolly quilt, Lucy. What a lucky little girl to have an Auntie like you.
I have a granddaughter that would love a quilt for her dolly. I just might have to look into some patterns and fabric. Thanks!
Oh yea you should do that Jody.... Making this was so much fun.
