Bus Bath Valance
Tuesday, October 13, 2009 I opened the door to the bath storage room. Two days ago actually. The first of three layers on the bedroom valances are done. I checked my inventory of the other fabrics and cording and found out I’m short cording. Dang. I was bummed about that and a little worried — what if I can’t get more?? But the design consultant assured me it is no problem — I should get the rest in by early next week. Whew.
So I switched gears and worked on the bath valance. Easy Peasy. The embroidery fabric is silk and hard to get a picture without lots of glare. This was taken with no flash.
I wasn’t real certain I’d like this — but now that it is done I’m happy with it. The embroidery is reflective of my sewing hobby even though I have not done a lick of embroidery. Hiding my head in shame cuz I have a machine that makes that easy to do. If you were thinking hand embroidery — well let’s get real. Of course not. I’m too lazy.
Anyway - moving on. This is a little closer shot with the flash to show some of the fabric detail. The little check and cording is what I’m using on the bedroom valances too. I just love checks — I cannot get enough of them.
Now I just need to figure out what to do about the wallpaper border in that room. Kinda doesn’t work anymore - eh?
Hmmm. And I might need some new accessories, towels. I feel a shopping trip coming on.

Wow Lucy, I'm speechless! That's AWESOME! You are one amazingly talented decorator!
If you peel off that border and send it to me, I think it will go just fine with my remodel. LOL Actually if you figure out how to remove it without damaging the wall board, let me know!
I didn't even see the "checked" in the first photo, not until I clicked on the lower right. Love it.
You sure have a talent for this.
Shopping sounds good to me. LOL
Once again Lucy - GORGEOUS. I LOVE the style - might copy it for a pillow for the new chair we ordered yesterday. You are so amazingly talented.
I love the fabrics. You do such beautiful work. I want to tackle the window treatments in our RV. However, I know it is one of those jobs that you can't stop once you start. We removed the border in some areas of our RV. With the floorplan we have it just chopped up the room. Hubby used a product that he purchased at Lowes. Post photos when you finish.
WOW!!! I am speechless! This is gorgeous! You do such meticulous and outstanding work! I love it!!! Can't wait to see the rest of them. :~)
Thanks so much ladies!!! It really is not difficult -- just wrap and staple. Course we don't want to look at the backside --.he he. I was trying to conserve cording and I cut it too close on one side.. eek.
CJ -- I hear ya -- I don't think that border will come off easily -- you could have it if did -- it would go great with your new color scheme -- which I just love !!!
Cindy -- Yea the check is subtle...could easily have used a solid, but it's amazing how having it makes me happier.
Copy away Tracey -- It would make a cute pillow for sure. I'm a copycat -- rarely do I come up with an original idea. The style I used here reminded me of something I saw in a Travel Supreme motorhome once. I like to flip thru lots of manf. promotion websites to get ideas on window coverings -- Lately lots of manfs. are switching from fabric to more wood. Personally -- I'd rather have more fabric -- there is already so much wood with all the cabinetry.
I know what you mean Sue -- it is such daunting task to do so many windows. I've done lots of wallpapering and removing of it but never in an RV. Not sure I want to try either. I gotta come up with a way to cover it -- or maybe add some black to the valance to make it all tie together. Perhaps I should have used black cording and made the button the tan/bronze. If I have enough check leftover after I do the bedroom I might try that . . .Or maybe add a 2nd cording to this one -- I've seen that done before.
Tks Julia. I'm hoping to be done with the bedroom before Thanksgiving. The front room -- ack ! I'm waiting on all the cording - it's on backorder. But pictures of all will follow eventually.
