A Sewing Day

And a rainy day. This is a typical day in South Florida in the Summer. Although this usually occurs in the afternoon along with storms not @ 8:30 a.m. Oh well fine by me - I’m just going to sit and sew.

Today’s plan will be devoted to Crazy Mom’s 9 patch. I’m almost over the hump — 35 squares done. Though it has been painful. I’ve had so many mess ups making these blocks that it is driving me crazy. Really stupid mistakes. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but if I have any more problems I’m going to call it d.o.n.e. Just begin assembling what I have done and it becomes whatever size it becomes.

I’m so ready to move onto my scrappy quit for the Bus and some other xmas quilts like this one.

I’ve had my eye on this snowball quilt for some time. It’s from BHG’s February American Patchwork & Quilting issue. I’m addicted to wovens plaids, wools, flannels. So wrong for South Florida but so me and I just love these woolies and flannels from Bonnie Sullivan. The whimsy ones in the quilt on the right.

I’m also shopping at the Fat Quarter Shop today —- they sent me a 20% coupon that must be used by midnight tonight. How can I NOT buy something???

Here’s what in my basket at the moment.

How cute is that itty bitty dog cushion? Woof Woof.   Of course I’m not done shopping.  20% off — I can do more damage for sure.

I’m also in love with this new line from Sandy Gervais. But it’s not available yet. October I think.  That’s OK — it can wait plus  I’m not sure what to do with it yet but the pattern hunt begins.

What are you doing today???

I'm a frequent lurker Lucy. I like the Essence fabric too... Can't wait to see what you do with it. Today I'm working on some Redwork - an addiction of mine. Wishing you a problem free day.

I like about anything Sandy Gervais designs, that line looks great!

I keep starting projects and losing interest halfway through them, chomping at the bit to start something else I won't finish.

I had better go punch a few buttons and use my 20% off from Fat Quarter Shop too! :~)

Your front yard looks so pretty!
I love the line from Sandy Gervais.......the colors are so yummy.
I am not too knowledgeable about Florida's winters, but is there ever a time when it gets chilly enough for a flannel quilt? You could take it camping and use it when you were sitting outside at night in the fall. We are nutty , but we do a lot of winter camping and I love nothing more than sitting outside in the sunshine wrapped in one of my quilts.

Well, I just can't imagine a CRAZY MOM QUILT making you CRAZY! You should put it aside for now. Work on what your inching to do. Your not working for the man anymore. By all means get that flannel out sister woman. YEAH! Then maybe someday out of the blue you will think (CRAZY MOM QUILT) that would be perfect for what I want or maybe not, who cares. Enjoy!
Love you.

Itching to do. I hate it when I send things before I read them.

Thanks for all the encouragement folks. Welcome Sue --- I admire those who can do the Redwork -- it is baeutiful.

Cathy -- yea it's unusual to be thinking flannel in South Florida, but your blood thins out after living here a while and temps can get into the 50s at night during the winter. I tend to wear sweat shirts and am always snuggling up with a quilt. And yep I love having a quilt with me when we are Rving...

Rick you are too funny. You'll notice I had a couple of errors in my post.
