Still In Red Bay

Campground Entrance SignWe are still here — but not for long. The valances are done and they will be delivered first thing tomorrow a.m. Office and Campstore We also have an appointment to have the Bus wash and waxed in the a.m. so right after that color us g.o.n.e.  These are a couple of pictures I took as we walked the campground last night.  The weather has been beautiful.   We even had the windows open one night.

Today was the first day we did not have anything to do so we drove up North to Muscle Shoals, AL and I bought a sewing machine.

Obviously not the Bernina though.  Nope -  I decided to try this Project Runway model from Brother.  Picked it up at WalMart for $140.  My thinking was if it really s*cked — I’d just return it when I got home.  I played with it tonight and it actually sews great!  It did not come with a 1/4” foot so I added a strip of mole skin to guide me til I can get one.

I think this is going to work just fine —- I’m actually relieved I won’t be leaving an expensive Bernina sitting on the Bus unused for weeks at a time. As long as it sews a nice straight stitch — I’m happy.

I’ll have a chance to use it next week as we plan to stop @ Topsail Hill for several nights on the way home.  Rving on our RV trip — imagine that ! Anyway I brought the Xmas Tree skirt project.  I’d sure love to get it pieced before we get home.   Should be a good test of the machine.

More later.

Enjoy the trip home. End of August is good time to be visiting Topsail. I have been eyeing the Brother Project Runaway at WalMart. Will be waiting to read your personal review.

Now you can tell Tom that since you saved all that money by not buying a 2nd Bernina, you should be able to get a longarm now! :)

wow - you've been busy. I have a Brother and love it. Sews great. And I agree, doesn't make a lot of sense to leave a Bernina unattended for long periods. They don't like that. Love the stuff you've been doing.

I so often have wondered about the "project runway" Brother that I've heard mention of before. I'm glad to hear it's working for you.

Can't wait to see that pieced Tree Skirt.
