Sun Room Complete

With the exception of a few things still in Illinois our sun room is now properly furnished. Eventually I’ll add some window treatments and some artwork, etc. And of course quilts.  :-) For example I’m hoping to drape one over the back of the sectional to make it look less intrusive.  It’s either that or place the sofa table there and stack a few quilts on the bottom shelf.  Or maybe I’ll do both.  Either way something needs to be done in that spot.

My goal for this room was to keep it bright and airy with a variety of seating options including a comfy rocker for MOI and a good size chair for Tom.  :-)  We’ll use this room for our morning coffee and entertaining. We’ve met some wonderful couples on our street and eager to have a few wine or dinner parties at our home in the years to come.

Tom sent me the tulips sitting on the chest early last week and then showed up @ the door on Saturday. Surprise, surprise. He just got up and decided to drive down for a visit.  A seven hour drive is one long day for just a few days stay, but I was so happy to see him.

I had to laugh — before Tom arrived he saw a few pictures of the room and told me he thought I just had not removed the tape from the rug yet.  He didn’t realize it was the pattern.   He wasn’t a big fan of the rug, but says it’s growing on him.  I wasn’t sure I’d like it either, but now I have no regrets.  None. Zero. Nada.  :-)

The room at night.  It looks a different color throughout the day and takes on a slight buttery shade in lamp light.  A few sewing things in the cabinet including my antique spool collection and some quilt books, etc. And you might have missed it, but my basket quilt now sits on top of the cabinet.  Unlike some quilters — it takes me a long time to finish quilts.  Sad I know.

Basket Quilt on Table

I need more quilts in here and everywhere else in the house.  I gotta get busy sewing and I’m eager to start Crazy Mom’s Trees.  I love this quilt.  I’m going to have a blast making it and finding just the right spot to display it for the holidays.

I don’t do this often, but I’m linking to Crazy Mom’s Finish up Friday.  After all it is Friday and I am finished. For now.

Love the update and love the rug! You definetly know how to "join" everything in the room.

Love your room and especially the rug! Love how it all came together. Your basket quilt is lovely too - and I, like you, take a long time to finish up my quilts. You are in good company. :)
