I’m a baby boomer who retired in October of 2003 after working 30 years for Caterpillar Inc.
My husband, Tom and I were born and raised in Illinois. We relocated to a new home near Nasvhille, TN in the Spring of 2013 after Tom retired. He also worked at Caterpillar Inc. During our careers we lived in Peoria, IL; Cary, NC; and FL near Ft. Lauderdale. Tom also spent more work years in FL and TX before we met.
I have a son from a previous marriage who is now in his 30’s *gasp* and Tom has a son and a daughter from his previous marriage both who are in their late twenties. Two kids live in IL and one lives near Denver. All are employed, enjoying their independence and staying out of trouble - we hope.
I spend most of my free time enjoying my hobbies - sewing, quilting, gardening, decorating. I usually have some kind of a project underway (usually sewing) and several completed so much of what you read here will be related to these projects. Together Tom and I enjoy RVing. We bought a 40’ motor home in 2005 and thoroughly enjoying our RV adventures. Now that we are both retired and settled into our forever home we expect to spend several months on the road in our motorhome each year. That’s the plan anyway.
